Bound High!
Nintendo Virtual Boy
Bound High! is an unreleased action-puzzle game that was being developed by Japan System Supply and was slated for a 1996 release exclusively on the Virtual Boy, with Nintendo set to publish it. In the game, players control a transforming robot named Chalvo as they navigate through levels filled with hazardous obstacles across multiple worlds, while combating alien invaders.
The concept for Bound High! was initially envisioned by designer and programmer Hideyuki Nakanishi, who documented his idea on paper and placed it inside a wall at Japan System Supply''s offices. His manager eventually approved the project after discovering the concept.
Despite being showcased at various trade shows and nearing completion, Bound High! was ultimately canceled due to the Virtual Boy''s commercial failure. Following its cancellation, a related game titled Chalvo 55 was released for the Game Boy in 1997. Although Bound High! never officially launched, a ROM image of the complete game was leaked online in 2010 by the Planet Virtual Boy community, making it playable for enthusiasts.
