Space Squash is a futuristic squash game played from a third-person perspective, where players control a robot named Peatron.

The goal is to defeat space pirates who have taken over the planet Animal Star during an intergalactic squash tournament. Players start in Area A-1, and each area features six stages filled with opponents. Every fifth area culminates in a boss battle. Completing an area unlocks a bonus round and offers a choice of the next route to take.

Peatron is controlled using the left d-pad for movement and the right d-pad for directing ball shots. Points are scored when an opponent misses the ball or their energy is depleted. If an opponent is hit by the ball, they become stunned and vulnerable, allowing Peatron to score. Players can utilize the arena's walls to create ball drifts and gain an advantage. Special power-ups, such as protective walls, speed boosts, and health restoratives, are obtained by hitting boxes scattered throughout the arena.
