Midnight Mutants

Midnight Mutants is a scrolling action-adventure game with a horror theme, presented from a pseudo-isometric perspective, and featuring a completely free-roaming world. Players take control of Jimmy, a young hero tasked with rescuing his grandfather, who has been taken by dark forces. To save Grampa, Jimmy must traverse a variety of eerie locations, including a haunted mansion, secret laboratory, caverns, a haunted forest, pumpkin patch, graveyard, and a shipwreck. At the start of the game, Jimmy is weak and unarmed, relying on his wits and the advice of his grandfather to survive. Contact with enemies causes injury and loss of blood purity, and if Jimmy’s blood purity runs out, he faces death. As the game progresses, Jimmy can find more powerful weapons, health power-ups, and other useful items that will allow him to defend himself against the growing threats. Throughout the game, players face a range of enemies, culminating in battles against giant boss creatures that occupy much of the screen. These boss fights serve as key moments in the game and require strategic use of the weapons and items Jimmy acquires. As Jimmy fights through the various haunted locales, his ultimate goal is to confront the evil forces and rescue his grandfather.
