Virtual Fishing
Nintendo Virtual Boy, 1995
Virtual Fishing is a fishing simulation game featuring three distinct gameplay modes.
Before starting, players can enter their name and gender. In Tournament Mode, players compete in a series of fishing tournaments across six different locations. The goal is to catch a large number of fish with a high average weight within a time limit. Initially, only two locations are available, with additional locations unlocking as players qualify through wins. Records of achievements are automatically saved on the cartridge.
Gameplay is divided into two phases: luring and reeling. In the luring phase, players cast their line into the water and use the B button to manipulate the lure's movement to attract fish. When a fish bites, the game shifts to the reeling phase, changing the view from first-person to side-view. Players must carefully reel in the fish to prevent breaking the line.
In addition to Tournament Mode, players can access the Time Attack mode by qualifying in the tournament. In Time Attack, the objective is to catch fish as quickly as possible. The third mode, Free Mode, allows players to fish without any specific goals or time constraints.
