Golf
Nintendo Virtual Boy, 1995
Golf's gameplay adheres to traditional golf rules, where players aim to complete each hole on the green with the fewest strokes by hitting the ball with a club. They must navigate various obstacles, such as sand traps, water hazards, trees, and thick rough grass.
The game is set at the fictional Papilion Golf & Country Club, which features 18 holes. Players can choose between two modes: Tournament, where they compete against 47 computer-controlled opponents, and Stroke, where they strive to beat their previous high scores. The top left corner of the screen displays the wind speed and direction, while the top right corner shows an aerial map of the course. Before taking their shot, players can adjust several aspects of their swing, including speed, direction, stance, club type, swing power, and the point of impact on the ball. A grid can be placed on the course to help with aiming and distance.
The game offers five different viewing perspectives, customisable button configurations, and a review feature to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of previous shots.
