Galaga

Galaga is a classic fixed shooter arcade game where the player controls a lone starfighter at the bottom of the screen, tasked with defending Earth from waves of alien invaders. The objective is to defeat all the Galaga aliens in each stage, who approach from the top and sides of the screen, flying into formation. As with its predecessor Galaxian, the aliens dive towards the player and shoot projectiles, and the player must avoid these attacks while retaliating by shooting down the enemies. A collision with an enemy or its projectiles results in the loss of a life. The alien formation includes four special enemies known as the "Boss Galaga." These larger aliens require two shots to destroy and can capture the player''s ship with a tractor beam, taking it to the top of the screen. If the player still has remaining lives, they can shoot down the Boss Galaga while it’s holding the ship, rescuing it and transforming it into a "dual-fighter" with increased firepower. However, if the Boss Galaga is destroyed while holding the ship in formation, the captured ship turns against the player and becomes part of the alien force. The game includes various enemy types that can morph into stronger forms with different attack patterns, including one that mimics the Galaxian Flagship. Each stage features an increasingly aggressive enemy assault, with enemies firing more projectiles and diving faster as the game progresses. Every third stage, and every fourth stage thereafter, is a bonus round where the aliens fly in a predictable pattern without shooting, giving players a chance to earn extra points.
