F-18 Hornet
Atari 7800, 1988
F-18 Hornet is a one-player fighter simulation game where you take on the role of a Navy pilot flying the F/A-18 Hornet. The game features a variety of simulated combat scenarios, including carrier take-offs and landings, bombing runs, strafing missions, and aerial combat.
In each of the four missions, you face different enemies and objectives, all designed to test your skills as a naval aviator. Before each mission, you receive flight orders from Command HQ, which sets the location and objectives for your mission. You must successfully take off, complete the mission by executing primary objectives (such as bombing enemy headquarters, dropping supplies, or engaging in dogfights), and land your jet at the designated airfield or aircraft carrier.
Your performance is ranked based on how well you handle the aircraft, defeat enemy forces, and complete your mission objectives. A crash or failure to land properly will result in a failed mission, and your rank will reflect your performance throughout the mission.
